Enter the Password Reset Code into the “Secure Code” field, then left-click the mouse just below the onscreen keyboard. Once you click “Forgot Pwd”, another window will show where you can type the password reset secure code acquired in the first step.
Select “Forgot Password” in the DVR / NVR Menu.
Click any icon on the menu bar (it doesn’t matter, just click anything on the menu bar). Using the DVR’s’s mouse, right-click anywhere on the current screen to access the menu bar. If you can’t find the email, make sure to check the junk/spam folder. Once you’ve created an account, enter the required information such as the DVR’s timestamp (date), Device ID, etc, then continue on the next steps shown below.Ĭheck your email and locate the password reset Secure Code (the email is titled “Reset Password”). Note:To create an account, your DVR or NVR must be connected to a TV/monitor, and you must be in front of the DVR/NVR. How to reset password on a Night Owl DVR / NVR The Night Owl password reset procedure works for these models (not all models are listed): So, follow the steps below to reset the password for your Night Owl recorder (DVR or NVR).
The recordings will not be erased by this procedure. The method shown here works for most of the DVRs or NVRs manufactured by Night Owl, however if your recorder is too old (like more then 7 years old), then it won’t work. You can follow the on-screen instructions and have a master password emailed to you in a few minutes. If you have a Night Owl DVR or NVR and you’ve forgotten or lost the password, there’s an easy way to reset the password.
